Alwan CMYK Optimizer® Press
Optimized files for problem-free printing:
PDF files come from a variety of sources; they contain
elements having different color spaces and separation options. These
files need to be harmonized and adapted to suit the printer's actual
printing conditions to ensure accurate rendering of the approved proofs.
Alwan CMYK Optimizer allows a pre-press company or printer to
check and correct automatically and dynamically the colors and ink
weight characteristics of incoming files, before sending them for film
or plate output. It can be used with any four-color process (+ spots)
regardless of the output technology so is suitable for litho, flexo,
gravure, digital, screen etc. The hotfolder-based system offers
automatic and dynamic dot gain compensation, TAC correction and black
generation for optimal printing.
In everyday production, the printer has to deal with files
received from different sources that do not print well on the press.
This may be due to a variety of reasons, such as a mismatch between
color separation and press profile or between the black generation in
the file and the optimal black generation for the used process, or
between ink values in the file and press and paper requirements.
Overmore, printers often do not know a long way in advance on
which press a job will be produced. Therefore, it is not possible to
use the press profile for the CMYK separation on the pre-press system.
The stock to be used on a job is sometimes chosen or changed at the last
minute depending on price or availability, color and dot gain
reproduction can vary dramatically accordingly.
